Candy Candy Heart Lollipop

A quick and easy use for those leftover holiday candy canes. This recipe can easily be duplicated for as many lollipops (or candy canes as you have!)  

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Total Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 candy canes (you will need 2 per lollipop to complete the heart) 
  • 1/2 cup chocolate (white or milk)
  • Sprinkles 
  • wooden skewer or candy stick

Directions

  1. Over a double boiler, melt the chocolate. To make a double boiler, put 1-2 inches of water in a pot, allow to simmer. Place a bowl over the pot so that it sits on the rim of the pot, but the bottom doesn't touch the water. Place your chocolate in the bowl and allow to melt, stirring frequently. 
  2. On a piece of parchment paper, place the the skewer on the parchment paper. Have the candy canes ready nearby. 
  3. Take the melted chocolate and spoon a little bit of chocolate on the parchment paper. Lay the skewer over the chocolate. Place another spoonful of chocolate over the skewer so the top is completely surrounded by chocolate.
  4. Lay the candy canes in a heart shape over the skewer/ chocolate. Pour in more chocolate into the heart until the candy canes are filled. 
  5. Sprinkle the decorations or sprinkles on the melted chocolate. 
  6. Cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes or until chocolate is solid.
