Lavender Strawberry Babka

Ingredients
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 1/4 tsp bread machine yeast
- 1/4 cup oil
- 1/4 cup honey or sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp salt
- 4 cups flour
- 1 tbsp Lavender Culinary Buds
- 2-3 tbsp Lavender Strawberry Jam
- 1 additional egg for egg wash before baking
Directions
- Add warm water and yeast to your bread machine, let sit 5 minutes.
- Grind your lavender buds. I used a coffee grinder.
- Add remaining ingredients, except the jam, and set bread machine on dough setting.
- When the dough is done, separate into 3 portions. Take your first and roll out into a rectangle, about 1/4" thick.
- Spread your jam across the entire entire dough.
- Roll dough into a long log.
- Slice the log down the middle and take the two side and twist them together.
- Once all 3 breads are prepared, boil water in a pot.
- Place the prepared breads in the oven with the boiled water underneath and let the breads rise in the oven for 1 hour.
- Remove the breads after the hour and pre-heat the oven to 350.
- Once the oven has come to temperature, add the breads on a low rack for 30 minutes.
- Remove, let cool and enjoy!
